Summer Class in Biostatistics and Epidemiology

for Comparative Studies – Maisons-Alfort (nearby Paris, France)

Level 1 - June 12th to 15th 2018.

A 4-day training session mixing theoretical and practical learning sessions (on XLSTAT® software) in order to better understand statistics presented in research papers in veterinary medicine, dealing with comparative studies (case-control or cohort studies, or clinical trials). The only prerequisite is: having read papers presenting p-values for comparisons of (at least) two groups of animals.

The maximum number of participants is 20.

Level 2 - June 18th and 19th 2018.

A 2-day training session including survival analysis and evidence-based veterinary medicine lectures, in order to critically appraise research papers dealing with causal inference (risk factors, comparison between two or more therapeutic approaches, etc.). Level 1 of the Summer Class or an equivalent level in biostatistics as well as in clinical epidemiology is a prerequisite. The maximum number of participants is 10.
