Internal Medicine Resident

We are looking for an Internal Medicine Resident to work alongside our large multidisciplinary team of specialists and nurses. We offer a good work-life balance, working Monday – Friday 8.00am to 18.30pm. Candidates would be expected to take a flexible attitude to working hours to accommodate caseload. You would be available to work a 1 in 4 weekends and evenings out of hours rota. The residency includes time off clinics for study. Closing date for applications mid- April, with a view to the residency starting at the beginning of July.

Southern Counties Veterinary Specialists is one of the largest multidisciplinary specialist referral centres in the UK. Located on the central south coast of England, the practice is situated within the beautiful New Forest National Park and close to the fabulous Jurassic coast. Despite being located in an area of outstanding natural beauty, the area offers good access to regional and international airports as well as excellent road and rail links to London.

With 50 clinicians, consisting of specialists, residents, interns and over 70 nurses you would be joining a large multidisciplinary specialist team working to the highest standards. We are a happy team who enjoy working in a family-friendly, supportive environment. The hospital is extremely well equipped, with major expansion plans to complete within the next 18 months.


Candidate Requirements

Applicants should have a strong and demonstrable interest in internal medicine. They should already have completed a one-year rotating internship and/or a one-year medicine specific internship. Experience of working in general small animal practice would be an advantage. Candidates must have excellent spoken written English and good communication skills. Candidates must be members of the RCVS.
