Internal Medicine referral clinician - Optivet Referrals, Portsmouth, UK
Optivet is a rapidly-growing, independent, multidisciplinary referral service on the beautiful South Coast of England.
Optivet Referrals is looking to recruit a motivated and innovative Specialist, Diplomate or residency-trained Internal Medicine clinician to continue the growth of our clinical service. We aim to provide a high-quality, affordable referral service to the South Coast.
Currently we offer referrals in internal medicine, surgery and ophthalmology and have specialists in all these areas. In addition, we have recently recruited a full-time specialist in anaesthesia. Imaging, oncology and cardiology support are also available from our existing medicine specialist team members.
Since moving in to our new premises in 2011 the practice has shown rapid growth with expansion of staff and facilities including, most recently, a new kennel block. The medicine service was set up in 2012 and has since expanded to one and a half specialists plus support clinicians. We are looking for a full-time (4 or 5 days per week) Internal Medicine clinician to help with the developing case load and provide greater depth of cover when clinicians are away. This is a truly exciting opportunity to be part of a growing, high-quality, independent medicine department which will support your clinical interests and development.
We have a dedicated medicine room, with video endoscopy, capable of performing gastrointestinal, respiratory and urinary work ups in nearly all shapes and sizes of cats and dogs. Our on-site diagnostic imaging facilities currently include 128 slice Toshiba Aquilion CT, digital radiography, a brand-new Philips CX-50 ultrasound and a GE Vivid I ultrasound. The building well-designed with 6 consult rooms, two dedicated theatres, two procedure rooms, a large induction/prep room, two dog wards and a cat ward. Most importantly we have a fantastic team of VNs, including a dedicated medicine nurse. Cover is provided Monday to Thursday and we will be expanding this to cover weekends.
Working hours are flexible. Salary, benefits and allowances are generous and commensurate with qualifications with excellent prospects for career development.
