CLINICAL LECTURER POSITION IN SMALL ANIMAL INTERNAL MEDICINE
AT THE FACULTY OF VETERINARY MEDICINE

The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Helsinki is the only institute in Finland educating veterinarians. We have 390 staff members and 70 new students each year. Our curriculum has been approved by the EAEVE/FVE. We have excellent facilities for clinical work and researchin our modern hospital built in 2006 and our research is at high international level. We offer a maternal leave substitute position as a clinical lecturer in Small Animal Internal Medicine (SAIM) at the Department of Equine and Small Animal Medicine 03/09/2018 – 31/08/2019. Requirements for the position are a degree in veterinary medicine and being board certified
ECVIM-CA or ACVIM diplomate. Duties include 50% clinical service in the SAIM unit of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital and 50% teaching and research duties in exchange with another clinical teacher. Teaching includes supervision of veterinary students and veterinarians in the
national specializing program during their clinical rotation and being co-advisor of one ECVIM-CA resident. The position also includes lecturing in elective courses for students and continuing education at national and international level. The position gives the opportunity to work on own research projects or to join one of the clinical research groups of the SAIM unit. Proficiency in Finnish language is not a requirement.
Salary will depend on the qualification and experience and it will be around 3 900 – 4 000 €/month.
