Dear Colleagues and friends,

The 20th ECVIM-CA Annual Congress will be held in the beautiful french city of Toulouse from the 9th till the 11th September 2010. This meeting will be a joint ECVIM-CA/ECVCP meeting. The final countdown has began as the on-line registration is now opened. Don't forget to register early so that you can benefit of a price reduction.

toulouseThanks to the efforts of the scientific committee, the main programme has been build up and once again it will be of very high quality. Outstanding speakers from all over Europe but also from Israel, South Africa, the United States and Australia will present the most updated knowledge on various internal medicine topics such as acute kidney injury, feline cardiomyopathy, arthropod-bone diseases, pulmonary function testing, breed-associated hepatitis and much more.

Research abstracts will again be an important of the programme (posters and oral communications). The on-line abstract submission is now opened and will close the 15th April 2010. We encourage you to present your recent research at our Congress.

ESVCP will organize a pre-congress day at the Veterinary School of Toulouse and ESVE will have its traditional (every other year) post-congress day at the Centre of Congress. A workshop on respiratory and urology stenting procedures supported by Infinity will also be organized on the 8th September at the Veterinary School

In addition, the ECVIM-CA congress committee is pleased to host the 1st Symposium of the International Society for Companion Animal Infectious Diseases (ISCAID). ISCAID will organize a pre-congress day in the center of Congress and will have a joint program with ESVIM during our congress. We are very proud that this event takes place at our congress.

The main change in the social programme in Toulouse concerns the gala dinner. The name of this event has been changed to 'congress evening'. The Executive Committee has decided to change the style of dinner: a sit-down buffet will replace the dinner served on table. This will allow a significant decrease in the cost of the dinner but also a more relaxing atmosphere during the evening. Of course, the dance party will still be part of the evening.

I would like to stress again that this congress could not take place without the help of our generous sponsors (see the page on sponsors on this website). This year, we have more sponsors than ever (despite the financial crisis). Please don't hesitate to thank them for their continuous support to our College and our Congress.

We wilI update the information on the congress regularly during the next weeks, so please check our website regularly.

We look forward to see you all in Toulouse in September.

Dominique Peeters,
Chairman of the ECVIM-CA Congress
